July 6, 2007, Newsletter Issue #112: What is Dementia?

Tip of the Week

Dementia is not necessarily Alzheimerīs disease, although it could be a warning sign of the possible first stages of the disease.

Dementia can be caused by the loss of cognitive, or intellectual responses. It can also be related to drug therapy, depression, thyroid, or in some cases, a side effect from chemotherapy or radiation.

I recommend seeking professional medical attention for dementia. Speak with the elderly personīs doctor, immediately!
