How Do I Treat Someone with Alzheimer's Disease?

Alzheimer's Disease is a progressive condition which can disrupt the lives of everyone concerned. Forgetfulness, confusion, wandering, mood swings and even aggressive behavior are common in Alzheimer's. Caretakers should ensure that the person is in a safe place. Wander alerts are very helpful for those who stray. This device is an alarm which is activated when the person leaves the chair or bed, or it can be connected to a doorway. When the person gets too close the alarm is activated.
Please check the Alzheimers Association for helpful advise on this condition as they have the latest information on new medication and treatment. They can be reached at www.alz.org.
