If a senior citizen is active and strong, he or she might try pumping iron to strengthen muscles and improve flexibility. Always remember to begin with an approval from your doctor. Then, start slowly but consistently. Personal trainers are a great way to get the most out of strength training.
Trainers are available through many gyms, YMCA's and sometimes in the Yellow Pages.
